| The Tiger Paw is a new breed of hostel in Medellín which is more akin to a small upmarket hotel or bar.
Plenty of the private rooms have en-suite bathrooms and even the cheaper bunk beds come with their own reading light, shelf and power outlets.
Gone are the rustic tables and free black coffee. Instead, the American owner has installed a sports bar with a pool table, 6 LCD screens and a food menu including chicken wings, black-bean nachos and hamburgers.
