| Buying furniture in Medellín can be a little traumatic.
If you get lulled into going ‘rustic’ you may unwittingly turn your apartment into a carbon copy of the Flintstones own front living room.
If you spend a little more cash, you can get an imported ‘Italian’ sofa which probably means the cargo was stamped in Italy on its way from China.
If you are prepared to spend way above US or European prices, you can get some incredible leather sofas and other items good enough for the most prosperous of El Poblado residents.
But, don’t despair; Santiamen makes some delightful furniture, mainly chairs and coffee or dining tables, but can custom make anything to taste using various types of marble or wood.
Indeed, it may not be fully appreciated in Medellín, but this furniture would be highly valued anywhere in Europe and the prices are more than reasonable. |
