For a long time the Palm Tree was the only decent hostel in Medellin. Since then at least five hostels have sprung up in Poblado alone, offering a slightly more glamorous range of facilities. But, while the Palm Tree may not have its own swimming pool or sports bar, it is well managed by its Colombian owners and comparatively cheap. Unless you have a burning desire to be in El Poblado, the Palm Tree is also conveniently located within walking distance to Suramericana metro station and directly opposite Exito supermarket. Among the usual hostel delights, the Palm Tree boasts a quaint outdoor bar and free freshly squeezed orange juice in the mornings. |
