El Tibiri is among the best salsa clubs in Medellín and arguably the main attraction on La 70.
Set in a lower basement, you might easily walk straight past El Tibiri if you weren't already looking for it. The basement setting also creates quite an intimate atmosphere, so much so, that sweat is likely to accumulate on the walls and low ceilings.
The position of the dance floor makes it feel a bit too much like a stage in front of the onlooking audience and it takes quite a few rums before you can relax and blend in with the crowd.
That said, like most salsa clubs, El Tibiri's atmosphere is super-friendly and newbies will no doubt be whipped up by would-be teachers for an impromptu lesson. |
