Al Patio is often referred to as the best Mexican restaurant in Medellín, which is a little worrying given that half the menu consists of distinctly non-Mexican food in the form of grilled fish and meat.
Perhaps, it's too much to ask to be immersed into a world of moustached Mexicans serenading your table, but something aside from the inclusion of burritos and quesadillas might help.
That said, Al Patio itself has never claimed to offer a comprehensive Mexican restaurant experience. Moreover, it does provide good food and good service in a sophisticated, intimate atmosphere.
Unsurprisingly, Al Patio also includes an open-air patio with some impressive views over the city from its prestigious, though slightly cold, location in Las Palmas. |
